PERFORMANCE

Formulated from plant-based ingredients and independently tested to ensure excellent results and an effective clean, while minimising environmental impact. *Compared to ecostore 1L laundry range

NEW FRONT LOADERS

You may need to run an empty first cycle in your machine with a dose of detergent. Our Laundry Liquid is not suitable for this first cycle. It contains eco-surfactants which are naturally high foaming. We suggest using a half load amount of our Laundry Powder for the first wash.

ARL LOGO

Managed by the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), The Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) Program is an on-pack labelling scheme that provides consumers with clear and simple instructions about how to recycle separate packaging components. Our 3X Concentrate Laundry Liquid pump is the first pump in New Zealand to have been assessed as recyclable through the ARL programme.

SAFER FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT

Approved by NZ's premier eco-labelling authority Environmental Choice (Licence No. 5819160). This is your guarantee that we are committed to environmental leadership and that these products are less harmful to the environment. With proper greywater systems in place, the water from your laundry can safely be re-used on your flower gardens, lawns and trees. Suitable for septic tanks.

SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING

Our Laundry Liquid is made in NZ to the strictest environmental standards in our ISO 14001:2015, Toitu enviromark diamond and Toitu net carbonzero certified factory.

RECYCLED AND SUGAR PLASTIC

Our bottles contain a mix of sugar plastic (a renewable, recyclable plastic that captures CO2 as it grows) and locally sourced recycled plastic.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

What does “3X concentrate” mean?
This means a standard load of laundry only needs 12ml - one third of the amount required for our regular laundry range.
How do I use this product?
All you need is 3 pumps for a standard load and 5 pumps for large and / or stained load.
Washing machine: add 3 to 5 pumps to the detergent dispenser and set to your preferred cycle. Hand washing or soaking: add 2 pumps to warm water or apply a small amount directly onto stains and setting aside for 30 mins before washing off.
What are the recommended washes per pack?
480ml pump pack = 40 washes.
840ml refill pack = 70 washes.
How do I lock/close the pump dispenser?
There is a removable clip lock on the neck of the pump. Simply remove the clip lock and you good to go. The clip prevents accidental dispensing of the liquid and is a travel friendly format that means so spillages in your bags. Please keep the clip lock until the end of the pump cycle and attached the clip with pump for recycle.
How do I refill my 480ml pump pack with an 840ml refill pack?
Our 480ml pump packs are reusable and we encourage you to top them up with our large format refill pack. Simply pour the laundry liquid directly into the 480ml pump pack from a 840ml refill pack.
How many times can you reuse the 480ml pump pack?
Based on the durability of pumps, we recommend that you can refill these packs at least 5 times.
Is 3X Concentrate Laundry Liquid suitable for HE (High Efficiency) washing machines?
Yes, this product is suitable for front loader, top loader, and HE machines.
Are other ecostore laundry products suitable for HE (High Efficiency) washing machines?
Yes, although would suggest to use a lower dose (quarter to half the standard dose stated on pack), depending on how soiled the clothes are – HE machines can generate a lot of foam if excess detergent is used.
Can I recycle the pump?
Yes, our 3X Concentrate Laundry Liquid pumps with non-metal springs have been assessed as recyclable through the ARL Program.
What is sugar plastic?
Sugar Plastic is a sustainable alternative to petroleum-based plastic that is made from sugarcane. It comes from a completely renewable, sustainable source, and is100% recyclable. Plus, the sugarcane we use for our packaging removes carbon from the atmosphere, which helps to reduce climate change.
What is APCO?
The Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) is a not-for-profit organisation leading the development of a circular economy for packaging in Australia and New Zealand.
What is the plastic saving for 3X Concentrate Laundry Liquid?
Because our ecostore 3X Concentrate Laundry Liquid goes further and each pump bottle lasts for 5 refills, when you refill the same laundry bottle, you can save up to 688.5g of plastic (that's at least 55% less!).
What is the water saving for 3X Concentrate Laundry Liquid?
Because our formulation is concentrated, it uses 55% less water than our regular ecostore laundry range.
Are your products tested on animals?
No, none of our products have been (or ever will be) tested on animals.
Should I use ecostore Laundry Liquid for the first wash (before use) on a new front loader machine?
You may need to run an empty first cycle in your machine with a dose of detergent. Our Laundry Liquid is not suitable for this first cycle. It contains eco-surfactants which are naturally high foaming. We suggest using a half load amount of our Laundry Powder for the first wash.
Does 3X concentrate laundry liquid contains enzymes?
Yes. We include these biological catalysts to effectively target specific types of dirt and stains on your clothes.
How do laundry enzymes work?
Each enzyme ‘eats’ a specific type of substrate - stain. Some prefer proteins like milky coffee, while others love oily fast foods. They break down the stain so it can be rinsed away in the washing machine.
Why is ecostore now using enzymes in its laundry products?
We’ve used enzymes in our dishwasher powders and dish tabs for years, and know they’re not only very effective cleaners, they also enable us to create hardworking products with lower levels of surfactants/additives. We previously avoided them in laundry products in case they irritate sensitive skin. But extensive research has shown us we can safely use enzymes in laundry products. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) classifies enzymes as a 1, or low hazard.
Why do enzymes have a bad reputation in laundry products?
When detergent grade enzymes were first used in the 1960s, respiratory issues were discovered in workers exposed to airborne enzymes. Enzymes today use an encapsulation technology to ensure they’re not inhaled. We’re confident that the enzymes in our laundry products are extremely unlikely to cause irritation – less than the proportion of people affected by fragrance, for example.
What type of enzymes are used in ecostore Ultra Power laundry products?
Protease, amylase, mannanase, pectate lysase, and lipase.
What is protease?
Proteases are a group of enzymes that target protein-based stains such as sebum, blood, grass, milk and egg.
What is amylase?
Amylases are a group of enzymes that target starch-based stains such as flours, porridge, corn starch, potato starch, sauces, and soups.
What is mannanase?
Mannanase targets the gums in processed food, like tomato sauce, baby food, ice cream, chocolate and fruity drinks.
What is Pectate lysase?
Pectate lyase breaks down pectin to help detergents remove foods like berries, bananas and avocadoes, jam, yoghurt drinks and smoothies. It even targets some components of cosmetics.
What is Lipase?
Lipase is a type of enzyme that breaks down fats and oils – from melted cheese to oil-based dressings, lipstick and body lotion – to help laundry detergents remove them more effectively.
What are the benefits of laundry enzymes?
The key benefits of using enzymes in laundry products are improved stain removal, better cleaning performance at lower water temperatures, and less ecological impact by reducing the need for harsh chemicals.
Are there environmental benefits to using laundry enzymes?
Yes, better performance with minimal environmental impact. It would take far higher levels of surfactants/additives to achieve the same cleaning performance boost as very small amounts of renewable enzymes.
Are the enzymes ecostore uses the same as other laundry product manufacturers?
Our enzymes have been produced using genetically modified microorganisms (kept safely in a lab). Not all brands disclose this information, but mainstream brands probably use enzymes produced in a similar way, using genetic modification.
Where do enzymes come from?
Enzymes are naturally occurring and essential to life - in our cells, they produce chemical reactions to build things or break them down. Digestive enzymes are secreted by the pancreas into the small intestine: amylase for carbohydrates, starches, sugars; protease for proteins, and lipase for fats and oils. That’s why these enzymes are so very effective at removing food stains - they’re doing what comes naturally.
How are enzymes made?
Genetically engineered bacteria produce and excrete enzymes in a fermentation tank, which is centrifuged to separate the enzymes. The enzymes are concentrated and further processed, while bacteria are neutralised and used as fertiliser.
Will enzymes irritate my skin?
Given the very small amounts and because of the encapsulation technology to protect the enzyme, we’re confident it’s extremely unlikely enzymes will irritate skin - less likely than the risk associated with fragrance, for example.
Will enzymes damage my clothes?
Enzymes will not damage your everyday clothing. In fact, their deep cleansing action removes ingrained stains and minimises the gradual dulling of colours. However, for delicate items like silk & wool, we recommend using ecostore Wool & Delicates, to protect the fabric structure.
Are enzymes biodegradable?
Enzymes are readily biodegradable.
Are enzymes suitable for greywater?
Using enzymes can actually improve greywater quality, because they enable laundry detergents to be made with lower levels of surfactants and additives.
Are enzymes genetically modified?
The enzymes themselves aren’t genetically modified; they’re a by-product of genetically engineered bacteria created safely in a lab, not in our environment.
What is the best laundry process to remove stains?
That depends on the type of stain and soil level. For most stains, removing clothes and washing them immediately before they set is the best course of action. Otherwise, soaking stained clothes before washing helps prevent stains from setting makes it easier to remove them - i.e. a cap to soak in water and rub a small amount directly onto stains.
How long should I soak stained items?
This depends on how bad the stains are and how long they’ve been on the garment. We usually recommend soaking for two hours, or overnight if heavily soiled.
What is the best water wash temperature?
The optimum temperature to wash clothes with ecostore’s 3X Concentrate Laundry range is 30-40°C.
