- Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone is considered a low hazard to health, although some people may be sensitive to this ingredient. While it among the safest available for this particular function, we consider this an area for safer chemistry innovation. Used with care

- Aluminium Sulphate Low hazard to human health. Mineral derived. Can persist in the environment, moderately toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Used with care
- Ammonia High hazard to health. Ammonia can be irritating to the eyes and skin, and can be severely iritating if inhaled. Toxic to aquatic life. Nasty
- Ammonium Chloride Low hazard to health. Not to be confused with other more hazardous types of ammonia, ammonium chloride is a relatively benign salt. Derived from minerals and suitable for greywater and septic tanks. Used with care
- Amylase Low hazard to health. Biodegradable and suitable for septic tanks. Used with care
- Amyris Balsamifera (Balsam Torchwood) Bark Oil Low hazard to health, although a small percentage of people can be sensitive to components of essential oils. Derived from plants, biodegradable and suitable for greywater and septic tanks. Used with care
- Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Extract Low hazard to health, although a small percentage of people can be sensitive to components of pineapple. Derived from plants, biodegradable and suitable for greywater and septic tanks. Approved

- Animal Tallow Animal tallow is fat from pork, beef or mutton. It is not used in ecostore products as we try to keep our products animal free. Nasty

- Aspartame The safety of aspartame has been the subject of many controversies, which is why we prefer to leave it out of our products. Nasty

- Behentrimonium Methosulphate Plant-based with a synthetic portion. Low hazard to health, biodegradable and suitable for greywater and septic tanks. Approved
- Bentonite Bentonite is a mineral-derived colloidal clay with purifying properties, and is considered to be a low hazard to health. Approved
- Benzalkonium Chloride Benzalkonium chloride is associated severe skin and respiratory irritation and allergies. Highly toxic to some aquatic life. Nasty
- Benzyl Alcohol Benzyl alcohol is a synthetic preservative that is considered to be a moderate hazard to health. We use this ingredient with care at low concentrations to prevent the growth of microbes on our products. Used with care
- Benzyl Benzoate Benzyl benzoate is found in some fragrances, and is a known allergen for a small percentage of people who are sensitive to this ingredient. Used with care
