What do you think of our hand wash foam pumps? You don't need to wet your hands before using the hand wash, the foam they make is light on your hands and easy to spread as you rub your hands together, so they're not as wasteful as some soaps that slide right off as soon as you put your hands under running water.
From the early feedback we've had we know that kids really love the hand wash which should make it a lot easier to get them to wash their hands. A few parents have been nervous that it might get wasted because they might be a bit ‘too much' fun to use but the pumps have over 300 washes so they're very economical. And of course there's the added bonus of it being free of the usual things like foam stabilisers or surfactants like CAPB (Cocamidoproyl Betaine), SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulphate) or antibacterial agents like Bezalkonium chloride that can dry out your hands and leave residues on your skin.
Our hand wash is also fully biodegradable and has less active ingredients to impact on our waterways, while still giving a fantastic cleaning performance. So that's a win for health and a win for the environment too. If you'd like to see a full list of the ingredients we've used click here.
We made the new pumps refillable to try and cut down on packaging but we're a bit nervous that people will try and use different pumps. Our formulation only works in an ecostore foaming pump. Basically if you use any other pump or just pour the hand wash formula into your hand you'll end up with something that looks and feels a lot like water. Not good.
It's been great working with John Reynolds on the design and we love his drawings on the packs. We showed a sneak preview of these on facebook and asked people to guess what the products were for based on his drawings and our favourite response was from someone who suggested they might be upside down umbrella sticks and windy hair. What do you think?
