Ingredient - Triacetin

Triacetin is an organic compound, usually appearing in the form of a clear oily liquid with a mild creamy-fruity aroma. It is in a class of organic compounds known as triglycerides, which form the main constituents of vegetable oils and other fats. Triacetin is naturally present in fats such as cod liver oil and butter, but is typically synthesized for industry using glycerol (from plant-derived fats) and acetic acid (a weak acid found in vinegar).

In the creation of our essential oil fragrances, triacetin is used as a solvent and fixative. This aids in balancing the volatility of the oils (the rate at which the essential oils evaporate at room temperature), which helps to boost the longevity of the fragrance.
