    FAQ'S

    What can I win?
There are three family experience vouchers up for grabs, each worth $499. These can be redeemed online at Chuffed, in exchange for one of 60 amazing experiences - from zipline adventures to fishing cruises, and educational experiences to nature tours. For a full list of activities and more information, visit https://chuffedgifts.co.nz/gift/choose-a-gift/recipients/for-families/
    How do I enter?
Use the form on our website to upload a photo of your decorated planter. You can read the competition terms and conditions here.
Does this activity require adult supervision?
Yes, adult supervision is required for using a craft knife and drilling drainage holes. If you are using potting mix, follow the safety instructions on the bag.
Are the edges of the bottles sharp once cut?
No, the edges should be quite smooth and safe to work with. (Parent supervision encouraged).
Do I have to drill holes for drainage?
It’s not necessary, but it will help to keep the roots of your seedling healthy. If you do, remember to pop an old saucer or lid under your pot to catch any drips.
Can I recycle the rest of the bottle once I’ve cut it?
Yes, you can. Place any pieces over 5cm in size into your regular kerbside recycling or drop it to your nearest ecostore Bottle Drop location. https://ecostore.com/nz/plastic-return-programme
How long is the competition open?
September 20 – October 16. Winners will be announced on October 18 and contacted via email or phone.
Where can I get a Little Garden seedling?
From your local New World. With every $40 you spend, you can get a free Little Garden seedling.
How do I plant the seedling?
After following the instructions on the Little Garden seedling, insert the seedling in its biodegradable pack into the soil of your upcycled planter. Keep the soil moist by lightly watering once or twice a day. The original pot will biodegrade and your seeds will germinate. Within a few days you should see a little plant appear from the soil!
Can I plant it later in my garden?
You sure can. Once it has grown you can move it from the planter to your garden. For tips on growing vegetables in containers and how to move them over to your
    garden see here.
Which ecostore bottles can I use?
Any that will fit a Little Garden seedling. We recommend our 850ml Hand Wash Refill bottle. It’s the perfect size for your seedling and it’s empty and ready to use once you’ve refilled your Hand Wash pump bottles.
What can I use to decorate with?
Paint and markers work well! We’d love to see what you come up with, but keep in the spirit of looking after the environment. Try upcycling where you can!
