Specialty Grocers - Because we use large 20 litre containers at our Refill Stations, by refilling the same bottle again and again, you’ll reduce your plastic use by the most. And you’ll save money too, with an everyday lower price on refills. All you need to do is rinse out your old bottle, let it dry and take it to your nearest Refill Station. There are 90+ across New Zealand, in green stores and speciality grocery stores. simply rinse your old bottle, let it dry and bring it in (don’t forget the cap).

Supermarkets - If you’re used to our other Refill Stations, refilling at supermarkets will be a little different. Bring your ecostore Refill bottle, then using the tap or pump on the bulk refill container, fill it with product right to the top. Write the product code and name on a label sticker, and place over the existing barcode (Note: you can do this with your Dish Liquid 500ml bottle, we’re currently working with retailers to set up our Hand Wash 330ml bottle). Available at selected New World's and Countdown Waiheke.

Buying your Hand Wash and Dish Liquid in a double-sized ecostore Refill Pack is a super easy way to reduce plastic waste. Simply refill at home as needed. You’ll find these packs online, in supermarkets and wherever you find the ecostore Refill Bottle.


Why aluminium?

It’s designed to look good in your kitchen, with simple modern artwork by New Zealand artist and long-time ecostore collaborator John Reynolds - you won't want to throw it away. And because it’s made from durable aluminium, it will stay that way, refill after refill. But it’s also efficiently, infinitely recyclable, so it can come back as a new bottle. As well as reducing waste to landfill, remaking uses only 5% of the energy and emits 5% of the CO2, compared with the first time it was made. https://www.recycle.co.nz/

Stay spotless!

To keep your Limited Edition Refill Bottle as clean and fresh as your hands and dishes - we recommend rinsing and drying thoroughly every six months or so (between refills) or when you switch fragrances. It’s also a good idea to wipe the outside regularly. Please keep it away from your dishwasher or abrasive cleaners. When it's done its dash, simply remove the pump, rinse, and pop in your kerbside recycling. And each pump should be good for around 2,000 uses (around 6x refills of hand wash or 9x dish liquid refills).

What is the packaging made from and is it recyclable?
Made from lightweight aluminium, the Limited Edition Refill Bottle is super durable, easily refillable and infinitely recyclable.
Do I still have to buy plastic bottles to refill it?
Not if you refill at an ecostore Refill Station in a speciality grocery store, although for convenience you might want to use a larger or bulk plastic bottle and decant into your ecostore Refill Bottle.
Where can I refill my ecostore Refill Bottle?
We’ve tried to make it easy for people all over New Zealand to refill and reuse. Head back up to the top of the page and check out the options.
Can I refill my ecostore Refill Bottle at all supermarkets with Refill Stations?
You can refill your Dish Liquid 500ml Refill Bottle at supermarkets. As the Hand Wash 330ml Refill Bottle is a different size it is more challenging for us to set up. We are currently working with retailers on this, we hope to have good news for you soon.
What if the pump breaks?
Each pump should be good for around 2,000 uses (around 6x refills of hand wash or 9x dish liquid refills), but if it stops working, we’ll happily provide a replacement for free. Please contact [email protected] and we’ll get that sorted for you.

Our gentle, plant and mineral based hand wash and dish wash formulations both contain palm oil. Please see our Palm Oil Policy for why we use it, and our commitment to sustainable palm oil.
Are your Hand Wash and Dish Liquid formulations vegan?
All our Dish Liquid formulations are vegan. Our Hand Wash formulations are also vegan, excluding our Manuka Honey & Jasmine fragrance.
Do you do samples?
Sorry, we’re not able to provide samples at this stage. Please keep an eye out for special deals in-store and online.
Which variants can I refill with?
You can refill your bottle with any ecostore Dish Liquid or Hand Wash as long as it’s available at your Refill Station, supermarket or online. We do recommend refilling with ecostore products, because they’re formulated to work efficiently with our pumps.
