Ingredient - Cis-3-Hexenyl Acetate

Cis-3-Hexenyl acetate is an aromatic chemical, usually appearing as a clear liquid with a fresh green fruity odour. It is present naturally in plants such as dill and green tea, and is also found in extra virgin olive oil and many fruit essential oils. It is produced by reacting acetic acid with leaf alcohol (also known as cis-3-Hexenol), which is another aromatic chemical found in most plants, and in essential oils such as wild mint (Mentha arvensis) leaf oil.

Cis-3-Hexenyl acetate can be used to add freshness to fragrances with its grassy-green aroma, while its tropical-green taste can lend fruity notes to food flavours.
