Conscious about carbon

We make sure most of the energy we use to power our business is clean to avoid taking more carbon out of the ground and releasing it into the atmosphere.
Emissions
We know there’s an inevitable impact of manufacturing and shipping our products and we offset unavoidable emissions while continuing to pursue reduction initiatives.
Our energy from renewables grew from 52% to 57% between 2020 and 2022
Our factory and business are proudly Toitū Net Carbon Zero certified. This means we have been externally audited to ensure that our emissions are accurately measured, actively reduced where possible, and any remaining emissions are balanced through verified carbon offset projects.
Plastics from plants
Bioplastic is made from plants (e.g. sugar cane), which capture CO2 as they grow. Most
of our bottles are made from a mix of this renewable, recyclable material and locally sourced recycled plastic. This mix creates durable bottles, uses less energy and resources, and cuts down on the amount of plastic in our environment.
*Some bulk formats (4.5kg and 20L) are made from standard HDPE for durability. We’re working on this.
