MALCOLM & MELANIE RANDS – CO-FOUNDERS
Malcolm Rands co-founded New Zealand’s first permaculture ecovillage in 1986 with his wife Melanie and a group of like minded pioneers. He built a track record in the not-for-profit sector before founding ecostore and its not-for-profit arm Fairground Foundation.
He’s twice been honoured with the New Zealand Ministry for the Environment’s Green Ribbon Award and ecostore has twice been named New Zealand Sustainable Business of the Year. Malcolm’s known as New Zealand’s ecoman, spending two years as the resident ‘green’ expert on New Zealand breakfast television. He’s also a member of the World Class New Zealand International Network.
Melanie Rands co-founded the company with her husband Malcolm in 1993.
PABLO KRAUS – MANAGING DIRECTOR
Pablo Kraus was born in Germany and raised in Auckland. A digital design Honours graduate of the Vancouver Film School, he worked as an interactive developer for five years.
In 2014, he joined his family’s business PK Group, and is a director of each company in the group as well as being Managing Director of ecostore. He is also an under 40s member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. Pablo enjoys spending time with his wife and young children and is passionate about a healthy lifestyle.
