Sodium stearoyl glutamate is a hypo allergenic amino acid produced from glutamic acid and plant (palm or coconut) fatty acids. With a pH similar to that of the skin, sodium stearoyl glutamate can be used in skincare products as a very gentle, yet effective moisturiser or as an emulsifier, helping to keep water and oil components mixed.
